Menu Monday 7/31-8/4

Week two of Meal planning, last week worked really well! The best hit was the Ham, peas and creamy noodles, which is actually something we made before and seems to be a family favorite, even picky T eats it! So check it out if you haven’t already!

This week we have mostly new meals, except the tacos and taquitos. The taquitos are also a family favorite, they are very easy and so tasty, they are great reheated and freshly made.

Monday – One Pot Cheesy Zucchini Rice with rotisserie chicken

Tuesday – BBQ Kielbasa and beans

Wednesday – Lettuce boat tacos

Thursday – Leftovers

Friday – Cream Cheese Taquitos

Have a wonderful week!

I am always looking for new quick meals, so share below with what is your favorite quick go to meal.

No Sew Curtains

So I had this post set up as a draft back in February 2013, but I never got around to actually ever doing the curtains. Since then we have moved, and we have been living with super long curtains in the bathroom! Now, I don’t sew, I want to get into it but it just isn’t on the top of my priority list right now, so this is the quick lazy man’s way of hemming or “sewing” without a machine πŸ™‚

Here are our super long curtains:

I had Steam – A – Seam that I picked up forever ago (probably when I saved this as a draft back in 2013), so I used that. You can find this in craft stores or maybe even Walmart. It comes in a package with full sheets of stickiness lol. So you would just cut strips for the length and width that you would need it for.

Place the curtain somewhere or on something you can iron on. It looks like it’s just on carpet but I have a magnetic ironing pad that sits on my washer so I just used that underneath.

Once the curtain is set, you want to figure out where you are hemming. For me this was easy, I wanted the last full grey strip to be my length, so I folded the curtain and placed the strips of the Steam – A -Seam on the bottom. You peel the paper off on one side and stick it to your fabric then once stuck, peel off the paper on the other side. Next you can stick the fabric together (your planned hemmed length should be on the bottom when you place the fabric together) then all you do is iron (I went back and forth slowly maybe 3-4 times and that seemed to be enough).

Voila. Hemmed curtains that took me probably all of 10 mins πŸ™‚

Got to love easy!

My Mini Baker!

When your Daughter wants to make muffins, we make muffins πŸ™‚ She may be stubborn like her Daddy (and maybe slightly me πŸ˜‰ ) but she sure loves to bake like her Momma ❀

She wanted Strawberry and we settled for Strawberry Jam. So what do we do, we turn to Pinterest! We found these muffins and we tweaked the recipe a little, here is our recipe:

Strawberry Jam Muffins

  • 1 ΒΎ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Β½ teaspoon baking soda
  • Β½ pound (one 8-ounce package) cream cheese, at room temperature
  • Β½ cup (1 stick) salted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ΒΌ cup milk
  • 1 cup strawberry jam

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease your muffin cups. (we got 24 small and just about 12 big)
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • In a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat together the cream cheese, butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and beat well.
  • Add the flour mixture and milk.
  • Once all combined add the cup of strawberry jam
  • Spoon the batter into the muffin cups, filling them about 2/3 full.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, and move muffins to cooling rack

We really enjoyed these, the cream cheese was a nice touch, it gave it that slight creamy taste with a strawberry mix πŸ™‚ Strawberries and cream lol πŸ˜‰

June Love Its!

Hello all πŸ™‚

I figured since June is gone and i am back to posting, that I would start up my Love Its again. I love sharing my new exciting finds with you all! I only have 3 this month but they are worth sharing!

Norwex Rescue Gel

This is a new product I recently tried and I love it! You just roll it on, and it’s meant to help ease stress and relax you, but we have used it for many other uses too!

  • I have used it on headaches that went away in about 5-10mins
  • On the kids for growing pains. They said it worked and my son even asks for it sometimes!
  • BUG BITES…no more itching!!

This is pretty amazing stuff! ❀

Chocolate Covered Gummy Bears!

Yes, I love gummy bears, but dip them in chocolate and man they are even better! I don’t know why I haven’t had this prior to now but this was the best $3.00 I spent in a while πŸ˜‰ Thank you TJ Maxx!

Members Mark Raspberry Chipotle Dip

Someone had brought this to a party we were at a couple weeks ago and we fell in love! I had to hunt down the people who brought it to find out where they got it, and found out it is sold at Sam’s Club!

It is sweet with the perfect amount of little kick! We enjoyed it with tostitos but have tried them with wheat thins too.

If you don’t have a Sam’s Club membership, find someone who does, you won’t regret it! That is exactly what we did…we had my Mom pick us up a couple…THANKS MOM!
